AKSYA began in 2011 in a small basement in Bandung, Indonesia, founded by three friends — Arman, Kira, and Syaifuddin. Frustrated by how small farmers lacked access to affordable technology, they built a modular smart farming system using recycled parts and solar power. Though laughed at and ignored by funders, they persisted — even selling personal belongings to finish their prototype.

Their breakthrough came when a video of a farmer using their tech went viral, attracting international interest. An NGO commissioned 50 units, and AKSYA delivered, earning global recognition. By 2022, their systems had reached over a million farmers, and AKSYA became a symbol of innovation for the people, by the people — always refusing to sell out, always listening to the ground they came from.
